Hi Mikey 88,

As you may have guess by now from Talleywhacker's response, it all depends on the code.

We have already been doing 2002 F-150's for some time now, but there are certainly a number of codes that we do not yet have, including poor Talleywhacker's EFK1, which I just checked on again today. We're a bit further behind on the F-150 this year, everyone from Ford on down is because they were shipped late, much later than normal. Usually we see the first new F-150's in the middle of August, this year it was October before we saw any.

This will happen at the beginning of each new model year, where we'll go thru a period of time before we get all the various hundred of new codes done, but we always get them done.

Any 2002 owner that needs the Superchip just needs to check to see what computer code their 2002 has, and then check with us to see if we have it yet. If we have it already, then of course it can ship immediately, and if not, we'll put them on the list to notify as soon as their code is available. Just give your neighbor's truck a peek for the computer code, or tell him how to do it & let us know what you find.

Even if we don't have a particular code, we can still do a Superchip. The way that happens is, the customer sends in their computer to us via overnight, it's read the next day to get the code and returned via overnight, for a 48 hr. downtime.

Hi Talleywhacker!

We know you're waiting on your EFK1 code.

We just got in the latest update CD in, and your code was not on it this time, & we're waiting on other 2002 codes as well. Heck, we wee waiting on a very late 2001 code that just came on the November update! Sometimes it just takes a few months, only time will tell. The next update is in about 30 days or so. We always have the another option, where you overnight your ECU in for us to read it, which means 48 hours of vehicle downtime. If you'd like to have us do that, shoot me an email I'll go over that with you in detail.

You're on the new code "to be notified" list here as we've discussed before, so we'll automatically let you know when we get your code.

Sometimes first releases, like yours is, aren't ever published by Ford on CD, as they're used only as updates to reflash the ECU with an updated factory program by shops. In those cases, the only way we can get the code is for someone to send in their ECU or bring the vehicle in, so the ECU can be "read" to download it's code. Only time will tell in your case.

Don't feel too bad, you aren't the only 2002 owner waiting on a new code.

Hang in there Talleywhacker,

Hi Talleywhacker!

Hmmm, perhaps you might not recall, but we actually did mention that in email a few weeks ago (we keep copies of outgoing emails & I just checked to make sure), that if you wanted to send in the computer we could read it & make the new Superchip program for you that way. Perhaps it was not clear, at any rate, my apologies if we had a misunderstanding over that Jon, as my impression was that you didn't want to have the vehicle downtime.

If we do not have a particular computer code, like in your case, as long as we have made chips for a particular vehicle before, as we have with these F-150's of course, we can almost always make the correct performance program for that code if the customer can either send in the ECU or bring the vehicle by so we can "read" the ECU to get it's code & then will have that code to do the work on it.

We've already spoken today, & you've made arrangements to get this done as soon as you line up the rental, etc., so we'll be able to take care of this for you very soon, so you can enjoy your 2002 F-150 with the Superchip as you did with your last F-150.

It's getting closer now....................
