Mike, I'm curious, what do you drive?

If you don't want to answer this one, just ignor this post.
Otherwise, it would be intresting to know what you drive, what mods you have done, and if you have done any quarter mile runs, etc?

Ah yes, the lightning. SVT best!
I thought about the lightning but I needed the extra seats (SuperCrew baby!!!!) Now that they have the supercharged Harley edition, theres no excuse for anyone, except that I don't quite have that much dough to throw around. Oh well got my whole life in front of me.

Hi dcovell,
How are you?
I drive a 2001 Lightning, currently running in the 12's. It's only had 1 track outing, literally 1 run at the track, which was a 12.88 @ 104+ mph. That was run on a very conservative towing program for 90-91 octane, with a full tank of gas & extra weight on board, straight into the staging lanes from a 250 mile trip. (I'm getting good at rationalizing that slow 12.88, aren't I?)
We haven't been back to the track yet to run it on the performance program, but with a G-Tech, which is known to be a bit optimistic, it's showing 12.45's @ 115 mph on the F1's. It's about 2 tenths of a second optimistic on ET's I figure, and obviously optimistic on trap speed due to how it calculates speed at the end of the 1/4 mile, it's probably a good 5 mph too high. I figure something in the 12.60's-12.70's on F1's (the stock tires, no slicks) at a track in it's current trim, as a rough guess.
Mods are all bolt-ons, chip, intake kit, billet throttle body, conversion to electric fan, etc. We carry all those parts.
We also have another 2001 F-150 that we own here at Performance, it's a 5500+ lb. 5.4 Lariat 4X4 ORP. That vehicle is getting modifications at a much slower pace, to document performance & mileage changes. Currently it's wearing only a Superchip, which knocked a full second off it's 0-60 & 1/4 mile time, thanks to the combination of it's power gain & the improvements to the transmission shifting, removal of full power delays, etc. It's bone-stock time was a coma-inducing 18.40 @ 80 mph, which I guess wasn't too terribly bad given it's almost 3 tons of bulk & being a tall ORP model, but still in need of vast improvement, which it will get over time (or my wife will shoot me, that one is hers & she likes speed as much as I do).

Cool, sounds like fun. Maybe when I get my chip on mine, I will be able to get a quarter mile run on it one of these days??? In San Diego there really are not many places to do that.
Hi dcovell,
If you do not have close access to a 1/8th mile ot 1/4 mile track, you can always check out your performance levels with something like teh G-Tech Pro unit, whcih is inexpensive & will give you 0-60 & 1/4 mile times, etc., though they aren't as accurate as timing it at the track, it's certainly a nice tool for checking out performance.
Have fun,
