Question Superchip for 1999 F150

I am confused. I have read in the message board many good things about the superchip and performance. Yet when I call superchips and they refer me to a local dealer I get the opposite from the dealer! The dealer says it is not worth the money unless you have the diesal. Which is it, does it work? Please help. Thanks (4.6 l V8, flowmaster)

Hi mcgillcom,

Welcome to F-150 Online!

Sounds like you ran across a small dealer than knows next to nothing about the product, and unfortunately there are a few of them, though thankfully darned few. You came to the right place here at F-150 Online to find out the correct information.

We serve as the National dfistributor of the Superchips product line, and I can tell you, as can many F-150 owners right here, that the Superchip is indeed very much worthwhile, and works very well. In fact, it's the single best bang-for-the-buck performance enhancer you can install on these vehicles, as nothing else wil give that much performance gain for less money.

Your 4.6 can gain a maximum of 26 horsepower and 40 lbs./ft. of torque from the Superchip. In round numbers, think of it as a 10%-12% power gainer. If you have an automatic transmission, it will also clean up the slow & sloppy shift characteristics very noticeably as well.

If you'd like to get more detailed information, please feel free to give us a shout, our contact info is just below & we're happy to go over all of this with you, and let you know just exaclyl what you can expect from the Superchip for your vehicle and it's current configuration.
