You can search these boards and read all day and night if you like... IMO, contact Mike Troyer and have him send you the Air Force 1 and a superchips brand chip. I've done my research and found this is what works for me. What engine do you have? What truck? The websites all have hp and torque gains, etc.

Thumbs up

I went with the Volant intake with the Superchip becuase of Volant's cold air box. Works excellent. Remember you loose %1 of horsepower for every 10 degrees of intake temp.

Hi Alpike,

We reviewed virtually every name-brand airbox elimination kit for these vehicles, and the Air Force One gave the largest raw power gains, 18 horsepower on the 5.4, 15 horsepower on the 4.6 V-8, and a 12 hp gain on the 4.2 V-6 F-150's. Others, like the K&N FIPK kit and the Airaid kit for example, both gave the same gains of 14 hp on the 5.4 and 12 hp on the 4.6 motor. The Volant gained 1 more than the K&N or the Airaid, at 15 hp on the 5.4 and 13 hp on the 4.6.

The Air Force One kit also looks the best under the hood by far in our opinion, it doesn't use a lot of the cheap plastic air tubes used by a number of other manufacturers. The Air Force One kit is made of extremely high quality materials, they use highly polished aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel for their air handling tube assemblies, and also have a built in venturi generator that accelerates the airflow coming out of the mass airflow meter, adding to the power gains.

The best chip on the market for these vehicles is the Superchip, it's the winner hands down. The Diablosport is the second-best, makign almost as much power as the Superchip, but it doesn't have as thorough changes to the automatic transmission calibrations as the Superchip. Either one will work well, the Superchip does a bit better, and it's also 50-state emissions certified, an important consideration.

The Air Force One kit is also now CARB-certified, they just got their EO#, which is D-525 for all their Ford kits.

As a couple other posters mentioned, we offer a combo deal on the Superchip and the Air Force One kit when purchased together, that will get you the lowest delivered price. Just shoot us an email or give us a call at our number listed below for the details, all of that is in stock & ready to ship immediately!
