Sct or 5 star for 6.2

Im really considering pulling the trigger this week. I just want to hear from you guys WITH A 6.2 what you are using how you like it and how much hp gain. Im keeping my truck probably stock for a long time. Just looking to get a bit more out of it. Wanting probably a selectable stage tune rather then a 1 shot deal. Also wanting to recalibrate speedo and get a mpg tune

You ought to choose the tuning house before you choose which programmer. I reckon purchase the programmer from the tuning house with custom tunes.

You'll be better off that way.

No, you don't want a "chip". I would contact 5 Star or MPT, buy a SCT device from them with custom tunes. You can get tunes for different uses and octanes.

They will preload the device with canned tunes, then you do some datalogging, send it to them, then they send you the custom tunes. It's all done by email, you load the tunes onto the device through USB off your computer. The tunes are loaded into the truck through the OBD2 port.

glc is explaining what I was talking about.

If you are going to do it, at least do it right, and this IS the best way. Not to mention is silly easy.

That's the best way. Give them a call, and you'll see how easy they make it.

I have an SCT X4 device with 5-star tunes down loaded onto it. Great set up. Bought everything through Stage 3 Motorsport
