99 f150 performance chip

Hi I have a 99 f150 as the title says.its a 4.6l v8 and I've been searching the web for what chip will give me the best results and switch to premium fuel for the biggest gains. Problem is finding one captable so that brings me here. Thanks for any help!

You don't want a chip, you want a programmer with tunes.

glc is right, if you get a chip you won't get all th power you could. You really need to get a programmer with custom tunes. I have be looking at a few and one I liked was http://5startuning.com/product/1-itsx-devices-2/. But there are many others that are good.

The iTSX requires an Android or iOS device with Bluetooth. The X4 is less expensive and is a standalone device. 5Star does good work, but there are other tuning houses that also do good work with Ford trucks.

I get jumped on every time I say this but I'm very happy with my superchips programmer. I bought it used from a site member. Big improvement in throttle response, hp, and a little higher fuel mileage. I use the 87 tune but it has a 91 tune also.

If you will be playing with it yourself, any good brand will do. I use an SCT X4.

BUT, if you plan on having it dyno tuned at some point, go to the local shop where you will have it tuned and ask what brand they use and get THAT brand. It eliminates head aches in the long run.
