I have a 2014 5.0, and thru my research and reading reviews I gathered mpt has the most power but it comes at upper rpms, while 5star has more lower/everyday driving increase.

I went with 5star, loaded the canned x4 tune while waiting and wasn't impressed. Got the new tune loaded it and noticed immediately the shifting improved, no more lugging and it was always in the right gear. First on ramp I gunned it (it was damp out) it down shifted and spun my 295/70/18 st maxx til about 50mph. So far I'm very pleased with the result and I may eventually try a mpt tune. I figure if I sneeze wrong my warranty is voided so might as well see what a tune can do

CUSTOM tunes are always better than canned tunes. All engines have production variances and a canned tune has to be safe for all variations.

Hey Cody, I did the exact same thing! Loaded the canned 93 from SCT then got the 5Star tunes yesterday. Flashed the 93 per/tow last night the went for test drive. I was chirping second with 275/60/20s on bone dry streets. Drivability is so much better!

My MPT tunes do that on the 87 tune.

I hear both tuners are very good. MPT is a little bit cheaper when buying an X4 w/ 3 tunes, but not enough for me to make the decision on price. I want a tune that will be safe and reliable, and I drive this truck daily. I really dont get into the top

If I went 5 Star, I think I would go with an 87/91 Perf/Tow tune and a 91 Race tune. If I go MPT I would probably go with 87 Perf, 87 Tow, and 91 Perf all most likely with street shifting. Based on my preferences, I'm wanting to hear from people who have tried tunes of their 5.0s from both tuners.

Are you concerned with how this will effect your warranty? What if you are not able to reset back to stock before it goes to the dealer?

Hi!… I’m running a OZ Omega tune in my 2020 coyote. Absolutely luv it. Ken Osborn knows his stuff. Switching to the Omega X tune here shortly.

I am going to try a MPT 91oct tune in the spring, they are cheaper as well when ordering a tune...
