Livewire caused back up camera malfunction
Yep. Back sometime ago, before Christmas, my back up camera started acting funky. I put it in reverse to back out of a parking space and all of a sudden it started flashing off and on, then stayed on but no guide lines. And trying to reset it in the menu didn't do anything. Then a few times it wouldn't work, with a message on the display saying something about no signal. But then the next time it worked, but still no guide lines. But I didn't bother taking it in, figured I'd wait till I took the truck in for an oil change. I had been running the SCT Livewire canned tune for several months. Once or twice during that time I had switched to one of my custom tunes for a period, then switch back to get a little better gas mileage. And I think I had returned the truck back to stock so I could update the Livewire. I was leaving it hooked up so I could use the gauges. Well monday I switched back to the stock tune. I was taking the truck in for an oil change, and have the Slip yoke looked at, and the camera fixed. While I had the Livewire out I went to the SCT website and updated the Livewire. So the truck went in yesterday morning. After a little while the service manager came in to tell me that the slip yoke will be covered under my warranty, and that the back up camera need an "Update", and that it would be covered under my extended warranty, minus the 100.00 deductible. So I have it done and come home. On the service invoice it says "Performed diagnostic, Update APIM". So I go out this morning and put the Livewire back in. It took some time for it to finish it's downloading. But I didn't put any tunes on the truck yet, just used the gauges. The camera worked great today while I was out running some errands. So I come home and then I decide to put the canned tune back on the truck. After It was done I started the truck and let it idle for a bit. Then I put it in drive to idle, then I went into reverse. No Guidelines! The camera went back to malfunctioning the way it was. The camera was working fine until I put the tune on the truck. So I shut it off, and go ahead and put the stock tune back in. Then start the truck and try the camera again. But it still is back to malfunctioning again. So Sorry for being soooo long with this. But I wanted to give an accurate description. So, to sum it up, The camera worked right after the dealer fixed it with an "Update". It worked fine after the Livewire was hooked up, but just using the gauges. I load the canned tune onto the truck, then started it, and the camera malfunctions the same way as before. I put the truck back to stock and the camera still malfunctions as before. Has anyone run into this? Should I contact SCT? I'm going nuts here. At some point if I take it back to the dealer, what do I say?

Thank you Obi one. Went to the SCT website and got lucky with a chat, sort of. gave a brief description of what happened. Said all they can do over the phone is check the software in the device and see if everything is up to date as it should be. And if it is not, then it will have to go in for repair, or replace it if needed. I really wasn't expecting a fix. Just thought maybe this may of happened before. And that maybe there was a suggestion for a fix. But then again it could of just been a coincidence. Before I took the truck in, I originally searched the forums for a long time to see who had a similar problem with the back up camera in general. Saw a few things but nothing ever tied into a programmer. So that's why the long...ness of the description..
