Most of the forums I use are full of guys with opinions some good and some bad, but are info none the less. Most of the time I can tell which is and which isn't(Bad). Sometimes discussions bring out the better thing and the bad. I'm sorry my little question, was such a difficult one. I guess I should've read into the sticky a little more saved and the confusion. Thanks for the informative and the constructive information. Now the pissing contest is over!
do yourself a favor and pay attention

#1 grow some thicker skin

#2 get a device that can be custom tuned, like the SCT devices as they have the largest availability to have a different tuner build you tunes if a business closes or you have a falling out

#3 have some fun or else you won't like this forum at all

I think that we were doing just fine without your .02. I've been communicating with people for about 60 years, from what my mother told me. I don't think that anyone had anything to say about my thin skin or not paying attention, but you. I've been doing the forum thing for sometime now, without problem until now.

1. You could look in the mirror and see how thick your skin is, I must be under there somewhere.

2. You could keep your opinions where they need to be ( to yourself).

3. You could take those years, posts and hours of paying attention and use them to help someone.

Thanks for the info on the SCT. Thanks to all "glc", "MGDfan", "Silverfish", "KMAC0694", "JackandJanet", even "il duce". Oh, almost forgot "tarajerame" too. Now how's that for humor?

Keep the info coming. Googled J-Puff but didn't find much. I emailed them for some more info. I was thinking on the same lines as "glc" when I started this thread. Can't say that my mind has changed a whole lot. But I'm not settled on anything yet. Still paying attention, lol. Heee

One of the reasons "searching" becomes and arduous task is because of the "clutter" aka redundancy. I would encourage you to click on my profile and read one of my 50+ reviews of MPT, 5star, MPT - all SCT programmers. Instead of having 1000's of these generic questions being posted and then having to be filtered through after a search a person could quickly and successfully research their particular question. I can appreciate the frustration when searching this site or any other site and being overwhelmed with posts that vaguely answer your concerns.

If I had the time and the power I would sift through the tuning forum and clean house and streamline so that people, like you, could locate answers in a timely fashion. FWIW I have spent days searching for answers and reviews, it sucks, but I usually find what I am looking for without clogging the forum with more "what's the best."

As indicated in my signature I have experience with 3 reputable tuner fella's. You may have to go back 2-3 years to find all of my posts but it will be worth your time.

Good luck , let us know what you buy. Some very intelligent people on here so tap them if you need further assistance AFTER reading and educating yourself.

Cheers

Cheef, thanks for forum 101, really. I did do some search they just didn't answer the Q's I had. I thought by doing it the way I did someone would lead me to something I could read. Thanks for the reply, info and the push in the right direction. I myself don't like to go thru a lot of threads to get answers and vaguely answered Q&A's. I think the answer you gave will help others & me in their quest to find what they need to know. Wouldn't hurt for it to be a sticky or for J&J. Thanks again.

Welp, finally took the plunge. Got one of those thar SCT X4's from 5Star. Did some paying attention and some readn' lol. Oh, and some talk'n. Thanks to all involved with helping to make my discussion. Just hope it's delivered before my trip down south, go'n to be do'n some towing just curious as to how much the X4 will help. Numerous hills and mountains at a gradual pace on the way down. I would think it would be a good learning curve for the tune?

Also thanks for the lead on the J-PUFF Programmer, a good read.......

Shouldn't you be following #2 and #3 as well? This is why the rule of respecting your elders doesn't work on me or most people anymore...I'm 29 and have run into so many elders who supposedly deserve respect but refuse to do the same. I don't respect someone unless they give me a reason to. All those in your sarcastic thank you note have been a great help to MANY people on here and myself and so I respect them. I'll admit I didn't like some at first but that's just my nature to not like someone until a reason is given for me to like them. You sir I'm sure I won't have a reason.

Back to topic. Asking which tuner is best is like asking which is preferred out of dodge chevy Ford Toyota or nissan...it's YOUR preference but all you can do is research and ask questions about tuners. I got my sct x3 from vmptuning with 3 custom tunes. After getting it 3yrs ago i have still only ever used one. But i love it. I have a 4.2 and can keep up with a lot of V8 trucks. I found out a reg cab ram rumble bee is a little much for my truck but not by too far. I have stayed next to a 6.0 sierra Denali crew cab enough where he couldnt pull on me but that was about my limit.
Same difference in opinions will come up if you ask oiled filter vs dry, or cold air intake vs Gotts mod, or open filter vs enclosed, or flowmaster vs magnaflow...you would have to try them out yourself to tell the difference. I have a cold air intake, open oiled filter, and i wouldn't change it. But someone else on here will tell you they tried that and hated it. Do your research but all in all you will get 95% opinions in your findings.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner but I was having a busy day being retired and what ever.

Evidently timmy you had a lot of down time on the crapper to think of all that bull****.. I could care less if YOU have any respect for me, or ever do, for a matter of Fact. I ask question to get answers, not repetitive junk that doesn't mean a hill of beans.

By the way, what was your topic? Seems to me you might need to start your own thread in General Discussion.

Mmmmm 29 you surely seem to have a lot of wind under your wings.

Now to the matter at hand. I can't wait until I get my programmer, that I have already purchased, with 5 tunes from 5Star. I think the custom tunes will be well worth the money, and well used.
