Bad ECU?

i have a 07 f150 5.4 with a edge evolution. just replaced the plugs and packs on it. then i got codes for cam sensor, replaced those, trouble codes still come on. took to ford dealer he said after three days of working on it it looked liked the ECU has gone bad. now im getting a number 1 cylinder misfire. has anybody ever had anything like this happen? does it sound like the ECU? also one more thing the misfire only happens when the truck temp is cold. if you let it warm up before driving no problems other than the can sensor trouble codes. the mechanic thanks the programmer is a fault!

You should return the tune to stock and remove the Edge, then take it back to the dealer.

When i took it in i tuned it back to stock but i left the edge in it. he probably couldn't find the problem and blamed it on the edge.

The Edge won't CAUSE an PCM/ECU failure. But, the codes could be partly caused by the tune that is set. I say partly, because they are really being caused by an underlying mechanical problem that the PCM can't compensate for when a tune is set. The tune expects the vehicle to be in perfect condition, and then adjusts things right to the "limit". If there are problems, the tune can push things over the limit.

So, do you notice any problems with the truck in the stock tune? If not, the PCM is fine, but there is something else that needs adjusting/replacing. Even if you DO still see problems, I'd look for them anywhere BUT the PCM, since the truck runs.

When you replaced the plugs and COPs, what brands did you use?
