adjusting tune with SCT

I'm having a ping issue and want to retard the spark a little.
When I go into the spark settings they are listed from -14 down to 0.
My question is, are the values that are displayed going to set the timing to that value or adjust it from what is already set into the program?

The value in the settings is taken from what it is currently set at. Thanks to an anonymous member.

Was curious as well, thanks for posting the answer. Still a tad confused. So if it's at -14 then moving to -13 would be the equivalent to advancing 1 degree of timing?

Thanks

Whatever number you choose will remove that amount of timing from the spark table in the tune.

For example, if you choose "0" it will have the timing commanded by the tune with no changes. If you choose "-2" it will pull 2 degrees from whatever is commanded.

Hope that helps.
