Best Programmer

When I bought my 2008 with a 5.4L engine I was getting 15 mpg consistently and had a quick burst of acceleration when leaving stops. That all changed when I had the CD changer serviced at Armstrong Ford in southern florida. The CD changer was mechanically jammed up with two CDs and I told them this. They have an outside vendor that comes in to service audio systems in their vehicles and they were worthless. The dummies told me there were no CDs inside and said it was a computer problem. I just shook my head and said I'll deal with it later. Shortly after I noticed that my mpg went down to 11 mpg and lost my quick acceleration. I can only surmise that they had flashed the computer with the stock program. This is a problem because the previous owner must of had an aftermarket program inside the computer that I was not aware of. I bought a SuperChips programmer because the guy behind the counter said it was the best for Ford trucks. I have tinkered with it a little bit but have not achieved the previous performance. Can somebody who is knowledgeable about programmers comment on this issue. Thanks.

The guy told you that because he didn't have access to custom tunes. That little box you bought has canned tunes in it.... but custom is the way to go. Spnd some time in here, and read........... this question has been beat to death.
