Hi, I have a 2011 ford f150 and I live in iowa where E85 if pretty cheap. however the pumps here do not have the octane rating for the ethanol. Im running at the minimum 70% ethanol. The reason I ask is beacause i ususally run an 87 tune and run 87 but when I do fill up with ethaol I take my Superchips cortex out of the glove compartment and set everything back to stock as im filling (36 gal tank). I was just wondering if there is a tune out there that I could try running with E70 and see how it preforms. And correct me if im wrong but if I run a tune that is lower than the octane levels I have in the tank it should not harm the engine.. also I have a FFV vehicle.

 

I would either run a stock tune or get a custom tune. I don't know how well canned tunes handle more than 15% ethanol. A custom tune should improve your performance and gas mileage on E70/E85.

I can't help with your custom tune question, but do us a favor. Post up the mpg difference that you see when comparing the 87 fuel with the E70.

With out tune hwy I get 18-19 MPGs on 87. With out tune hwy I get about 16 maybe 17 if I'm lucky on E70. I will update soon what I get with a tune.
