Finally got Gryphon Custom Tune
Let me understand this and get some clarification. I can buy any Edge tuner (evo or cts) and its no longer necessary to send it in to convert to a Gryphoon? Just keep using until the custom tune is sent to you?
no more putting the programmer in a box and shipping it off to PHP....
everything is now done through PHP's pegasus server(evolution) or Edge's fusion server(cs+cts).....
I know they used to use a customers own Evo case or shell or whatever, painted it black and updated all the guts and installed the custom tunes. Then sent the Gryphon back. I HEARD that they now send a program that has to be installed as an update to the customers Evo. How does this work? I would like to upgrade my Edge to a Gryphon with custom tunes.
Any idea if this is compatible with a Mac?
nope....not unless you're using parallels or another equivalent to it, to run Windows on it.....

goto PHP's website and download the Pegasus communication software onto a PC.....its that simple
Question for you guys that are real familiar with PHP's processes:
I have an older Edge Evolution programmer. I recently ordered custom tunes from PHP.
On the 'Order' page of their website, there is an option to
A) Order Calibrations for a 2004-2008 F-150 EVOLUTION PROGRAMMER
B) Order Calibrations for a 2004-2008 USED GRYPHON or EVO Already Upgraded by PHP
I ordered option A...
Then I wanted to test Pagesus, so I installed it, plugged in my Evo, and it successfully communicated with the PHP server. I had the option to update the software and the firmware on my Evo, so I did. This firmware flash and software upgrade updated the board to a Gryphon. It boots up with a Gryphon logo now, and the firmware and software revisions reported from the DIAGNOSTICS > TECH SUPPORT menu are both newer versions than they were before. Also, the canned tunes now rock instead of being “a little better than stock”.
Here’s my question – is there a difference between option ‘A’ and option ‘B' above? I ordered for ‘A’ but now I think it qualifies as ‘B’.
I suspect it doesn’t really matter, as the hex code and serial # are still the same. But if it does matter, I would rather bring it to Bill’s attention before he starts writing the tunes for this particular unit.
Anyone?

A).....your hex code and serial number isn't in the system....new files will have to be created for your truck and programmer...
B).....hex code and/ or serial number is in the system....they'll need to transfer info into your file.....
I did the same thing with my evo and my truck ran very good. Then i received my custom tunes and my trucks mileage went down trans shifts alot more every time a hill is mentioned my truck down shifts and then shifts right back up and then back down. i am going back to canned tunes if I can find out how as you can't communicate with PHP .This has been a real bad deal for me.

I'm not sure I understand what you're telling me here. On the order form, I gave them my hex and serial. However, I ordered tunes for an Edge Evolution.
Since then, my Edge Evolution has become a Gryphon. I'm wondering if that will be an issue or not.
In other words, is there any difference when writing the tunes for an Edge Evolutin vs. writing the tunes for an Evolution that has been upgraded to a Gryphon?
I suspect there is not, however, there are two different order options, so it makes me wonder.

just put in an order for my gryphon! i have a mac though so i don't know if pegasus will work. might have to use my dads windows computer or something.
what do you need pegasus for? Can i just install the gryphon right away or do i have to hook it up to a computer first?
sorry but im new to this.

Yes, you can just install it on your truck when you get it. It will have canned tunes on it.
You would use Pegasus to update it to your custom tunes if you order them. The software communicates with the PHP server, and if there are custom tunes for you (based on your Gryphon's serial number), it gives you the ability to download them from PHP and install them on your Gryphon.
You also use Pegasus to upgrade the firmware on your Gryphon, if and when it's needed.
For a Mac, you need some kind of Windows emulation software for Mac to run Pegasus. Might be less compllicated to just use Dad's Windows computer.
