My 1865 Superchips Experience
My 1865 Superchips Experience
Here are my short term results and my $0.000000000002 feedback:
Running the 87 tune with 93 octane - I received an average of
21.3mpg running 60 mph on fairly level highways. Spent majority in 6th. Only drove it for 27 miles before switching it to the next tune below.
Right after the above on my recent camping trip, from Greenbrier, AR to Lebanon, MO and back, I averaged 15.3mpg on the heavy tow tune while I was hauling a full bed of camping gear, 6 people in the cab, and a pop up trailer.
Bennett Spring state park was awesome for trout fishing. Just saying...
Both of these were on the on-display of the truck not calculated by hand.
Truly amazing coming from a Dodge Ram that only got 15mpg on the highway - EMPTY.
This is just preliminaries so take it for that, long term is where it counts. Will report back once more miles are run.
Why I went with Superchips - I had them before on other vehicles and including the Dodge - so I was fine with running them again.
Also I was amazed at how many ecoboosts and "new" f150s that were towing 27 footers... One was towing a 30 footer and I must say - I was impressed.

Yeah, while mine is a little older with just 4 speeds and a 5.4 .... that 87 octane tune added a solid 1.5 - 2 mpg on the highway. Before, had 18.5 was best MPG .... with the SC FP 1865 I can count on 20 and have seen better than 20.5 both doing math and SGII.
