Edge CTS...Can I use level 3 wt 89 octane

I was wondering can I use level 3 on my edge CTS while running 89 octane safely. Maybe by backing of the timing and if so how much. If it helps with your decision I have E3 spark plugs and 100lbs injectors set to 40lbs if that makes a difference.

that info is in the manual

0.5 deg retard / unit octane

as for the injectors ..WTF? CTS can't possibly correct for those.

To add to this - Bill at PHP has advised against running lower octane gas in a 91 octane performance tune, even if you DO retard the spark timing. He's said there is more to a high octane tune than just a timing advance.

I would not do it.

Also, how many miles on those E3 plugs. Other members here have had a lot of trouble with those in the 3v engines.

From what I know, E3's seem to be okay in the 2v.
