Edge CS fix my trans?

I have an 09 FX4 that the more I drive the more I like it! I've just started noticing when coming to stop or slowing down below 20mph the transmission seems to almost clunk when it shifts down a gear. Am I just imagining things or is this something I could maybe fix by installing an Edge programmer?

i've been saving money for a leveling kit and tires now i'm thinking i need to save acouple more hundred for an edge. i have a chance to buy a CS for $310.

what would you guys do?
thanks

How many miles are on your truck and when was the last time the trans was serviced? Theres not a tuner or programmer out there that will fix underlying mechanical or electrical problems. It could be nothing, but why take the chance of increasing the risk of creating more problems with the programmer. If your truck has any more than 30k on it, I would start off with a fluid exchange and a filter.

I don't think edge has finished working out all the trans kinks yet.... I considered one when I was in the market, but the "issues" scared me off. I went the SCT X3 route instead. Glad I did. Do your own research first, and choose the one you like, but confirm that all the bugs have been finalized before plunging into the Edge. Many folks here have waited a long long time for "next month" to fix everything.

Have you had the dealer check for TSB's? A reflash may take care of that issue.

Reflash TCM

Had the same slowing down shifting trany problem on my EXP. They had A TSB for the problem and after a re-flash of the TCM, it was gone.

Pickup just turned over 27K miles yesterday coming back from the lake. Is there a good site to check for TSB's ? I've not had any luck with any of the Ford dealers around here wanting to give me the time of day. Definately not getting an extended warranty from them again, because it's easier to just fix the rig myself or have a local mechanic do it.

Look at the top of this page... recalls and tsb.?.... register, and look around. Everything you need to know about tsb's is there.
