Locked

I bought an edge evolution 2 from a member on here. He thought it was locked and he gave a good price. Now I get it and edge wants 150 to unlock it so is there any way around this or did I buy a paper weight. I searched this before and all the post said 80 to unlock so that's what I thought. PHP doesn't list anything online about unlocking a device. And if I get it unlocked do I have to have custom tunes put in it. I am sure it's locked too because I plugged it in and it went through some things then went to a blank screen. Any help would be appreciated.

YOu may want to change your title, some members are going to see "locked" and think the thread is closed and move on to the next one. If you change the title you might get more views.

Good luck with you search.

I'm not even going to mention buying a locked device , or without confirming with Edge exactly how much it would cost before purchase.

These 2 threads may suggest a solution:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/chi...-should-i.html

https://www.f150online.com/forums/chi...ryphon-cs.html

Just examples of the many threads precisely and directly relevant to both yer issue, AND a solution! Imagine that!

You've been here long enough that you Should know you can find yer own answers very easily.

BTE - did you try contacting PHP ( phone/email/forum post? Did you try looking on PHP's forum? Any or all those avenues would have proven fruitful, had you actually made an honest attempt.

Well, Why not? Yer time too important that you'd rather someone else do the lifting while you sit on yer *** and wait?

Jeez, I hate lazy people.

Sorry - outta spoons.

Well, okay ... I have one left, just fer you, lol.

Oh yeah ... yer welcome

MGD

That is what I received in a Private message I thought I would post it invade it would help someone that uses the search. 88racing I will call php tomorrow hopefully they can help. Anymore help or nice private messages are appreciated.

Considering he hasn't been 'public' since you've joined the site, how is it that you've arrived at this conclusion? How did his 'rant' not answer the original question? Did you bother to click on the links HE provided?

In the past few months, I've learned more from MGDfan and a few others than I've learned in years (I'd rather not start naming because I wouldn't want to leave anyone out...you know who you are). All you have to do is put forth a little effort.

More to come. Stay tuned.

Well I looked at all the threads and all I came up with was that it would cost 80 dollars to unlock. I read two of the three threads before I bought the programmer. I don't need a lecture on how to use the site. I called php today and talked to Cody, bill wasn't there I asked him how much he said 75 and he told me if I wanted it faster to send it to edge. I told him I would but they want 150 to unlock it he said he didn't know that but that is who they use to unlock them u send it to them they send it to edge to unlock. He told me to call back later and ask bill about it he will know the pricing better. I was never able to get through. I did plug it in today and got the hex code and saw it was on level 3. I will probably just send them an email.

when i clicked on the links he provided they did not work and i am not going to get into PM's that i have received from him over questions i have posted.

Of course when you are a member of a forum for 7-8 yrs when new people join they will inherantly post something that you have seen 100 times already.
so lets face it searching works but it also requires reading through 100 threads to finally get the answer that could have been given by the next person that replied to the original topic post
is this a good enough answer for my conclusion or do i need more details ?

MGD's methods of providing information are not always the most belly warming and ego stroking, but the information itself is researched, and most often dead on the money. Of course everybody is wrong once in a while. I can't recall any instances where he was proven wrong, but I sadly admit that I personally was wrong once back in 1989. Surely if I am not perfect nobody else can possibly be. :-)

I know I'm gonna pay for that, but I'm a big boy, with thick skin.

He is not the only one annoyed by folks being a little lazier than they should be. You will meet them all here in good time. The fact is, if one is too lazy to search, simply admit it, take your tongue lashing, and move on. The answer you want will show up eventually.

Well yes and but though some answers change with time, what was once may no longer be and something else may now ... "be"?

It happens.

From one of the books from the self-titled volume 'The Immortal Hero of Timeless Prose':

Forum Sloths
========

To those who have no qualms
Letting others dirty their palms
Who lounge about fat dumb and happy
While good folks toil they nappy

Matters not if young or old
Matters much they don't like to be told
That their answers are available
If their brains were enabled

No Spoon? Oh, SO helpless
SO far from selfless
Feed Me! they cry
There IS no 'try'

In fact they'd much rather
Simply sit back and blather
How unfair it all is
That they're called out on this

Yea, they'd much prefer pining
And insufferably whining
To engaging their wee brain
And try Search again

The most pitiful of all
Is the Sloths' rallying call
That inspires other crazies
To support all these Lazies
