Hi Hotshot,

There are a number of others here using the Superchip on 4.2 V-6 manual-transmission F-150's, so hopefully you should get some feedback on that.

Just to give you our perspective, the maximum rated gains from the Superchip for that engine horsepwoer and 31 lbs./ft. of torque. In round numbers, think of it as a 10%-12% power-gainer, as that is basically what it's going to do, and what your vehicle will feel like as a result. In other words, it will feel like you picked up about 10%-12% more motor under the hood, is one way to describe it.

You already have the exhaust done, so that's good, and your selection of the Air Force One kit is excellent, as it's the best airbox elimination kit for these vehicles. It uses the cold air inlet from the fender and is made of highly polished stainless steel, you'll love how it looks under the hood and how it performs. We offer combo deals on the Air Force One kit and the Superchip when ordered together, so if you want to take advantage of that, just give us a shout by phone or in email.

Good luck!

Hi Hotshot,

You're very welcome, anytime!

Also, I forgot to mention, you may already know this, but just in case you might not know, JBA does make headers for those 4.2 V-6's, (finally!), and they're carried here in the F-150 Online Store, which is run by Lemere Enterprises.

Good luck!
