premium performance setting

I have had a diablosport predator programmer for about a year and finally switched from the 87 k&n performance tune to the premium k&n performance tune. Quite a difference. The shifting is much firmer at wot and seems to pull a little harder as well. My question is this, when loading the tune it says to run at least 91, but recommended 93. I only have 91 available in my area, but do run chevron gas. Will I be okay to running 91 for extended lengths of time or do I need to detune the spark advance (or similar) setting?

You're probably fine with things as they are, especially now that the weather is colder. If you detect any tendency to ping at all though, you should probably retard the spark about 1 degree if you have that capability. (Figure about 0.5 degrees for each octane number different from the tune value.)

Thanks, that's what I was thinking but wasn't sure how much. I will run as is for now and listen for pinging and adjust if necessary.

Agreed, and that tune is designed for a min. of 91, so you should be fine.

Thanks
