Innovate to SCT

Anyone here done it? reading through some of the how to articles it doesn't make sense. Everyone says you need a serial to USB adapter....for what? the 9 pin get wired to the LC-1 and plugged into the XCal2, then just XCal2 goes to the OBDII and the printer USB cable to the laptop. what am I missing?

Don't mind me, just making notes to myself, and others in the future.

MGDFan, tried pm'ing you back but says you don't allow PM's...

Anyways...
Yep, read through both of those already. In the innovate article it says you need a USB to Serial adapter, but then never says what you need it for in the article. I understand the rest and seems like the wiring is complete without the adapter. Was just asking if I was missing something.

You only need the serial to USB adapter if your laptop doesn't have a serial port.

Well, I guess my question is what plugs into the adapter? Or into the serial port on the computer?

The 9 pin mini din cable gets cut and wired to the LC-1, then the other end plugged into the XCal2

The Printer USB goes from the XCal2 to the computer

There is no serial cable to hook up....

A little lean?
Mine is hard wired, installed years ago, but doesn't Innovate make a 9 pin/usb adapter?

22.4 is just about right at 0RPM...

I'm just going to wire in the 9 pin and try it out, don't see why I would need the serial adapter

Finally figured it out. I am missing the serial cable that comes with the LC-1 to program it...
