I recently received a Volant powercore intake as a gift and installed it in my truck. I noticed it wasn't giving me the extra mileage nor power I was expecting and remembered that the truck probably isn't programmed for all that extra flow. I need to tune my truck to take advantage of the new intake and keep it from running lean, but as soon as I started researching them, I realized I'm out of my league.

I get the concept behind tuners and the tunes they supply, and hear a lot of negative things about the pre-programmed, or "canned" tunes. I want something that can do me good with my new intake, but I don't want to break the bank, either. Can anyone recommend me a good tuner for my truck?

canned programs such as Edge are for stock intakes. You need a custom tune by 5 Star or VPM, or you might look into a Diablo that has tunes for a specific intake.
