Finally got my PHP 87 performance tune!

I realize plenty of you guys already know what I'm about to say but I thought I'd add my 2 cents for those considering new programmers...

I certainly can't say that it was a seamless acquisition but I was able to download my 87 perf tune this week courtesy of Bill at php and I must say I'm enjoying the new tune a lot.

Around town at part throttle the engine is much more responsive and I feel as though I'm using less gas to get more performance from the 5.4. I know the CS is not altering the TCM at this point but the shifts are firmer and I'm able to get the transmission to kick down when I want it to.

Overall, the engine feels a lot 'crisper' and the truck feels much livelier with the 34.5 inch trail graps I'm running. There's some actual punch now when I hit the gas on a freeway entrance or to pass someone.

To anyone having trouble getting ahold of the folks at php, I highly recommend joining their forum and posting in the section devoted to those waiting for tunes. Bill sorted me out immediately after I did this.

Thanks Bill!

Have you tried contacting them and how? That's not normal at all. Something is wrong and you need to find out what it is.

Sent a few emails to corey, but no reply. Guess I should give a call.

Due to various mix-ups I waited more than 6 months. I sent many emails to Corey but I don't recall ever getting a response either. I've read on the forums that perhaps she's currently not able to handle the customer service workload due to personal reasons.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you join the php forum and start a thread in the section specifically devoted to those waiting for tunes where they ask you for your name and hex code. I sent futile emails for months but as soon as I posted on their forum, Bill sorted out my situation immediately.

Good luck to ya!

I recieved my CTS from Edge in early June. After sending my HEX code to PHP I believe it was 3 days later that I had my custom 89 tow tune. Originally I had an issue with the download but a call to PHP had the issue rectified in less than 2 hours.

My point being, if anyone is waiting weeks for a tune they might want to do some follow-up.

I got my tune over a year ago..87 perf. and 91 perf. Can't drive the truck without them. Made a huge difference in my little 4.6...currently i have 148,000 miles and no problems, knock on wood!
