Edge evolution cs

Just got it last week for my 03'. I like it over all. I only had 3 choices for tunes. Trans only, tow, or extreme. I guess for daily driving extreme would be what to go with. So on extreme mode I get some pretty firm shifts under about 25% throttle and higher. It's kind of annoying, is this safe for DD? Is there anyway to adjust it other than getting a custom tune?

As long as you use 91 octane or higher, there's no problems running #3 for daily driving. I prefer #2 but that's just my choice.

You can adjust the shift firmness, and shift points, among other things in the custom settings menu.Know what your are doing, and exactly what you want to change before messing with them though.

Is number 2 trans only or towing? Do you still have the firm shifts?

The reason it is shifting harder is because it is switching gears quicker. This actually is better for the transmission than the slow stock shifting. It also reduces the amount of heat the transmission would be making, so it might run a little cooler while on level 3

As far as level 2, its towing on mine. It keeps you in a lower gear longer so that if you were pulling something, you are not switching between gears constantly. It stays in one gear until moderately higher RPMs are reached and in my truck the shifting is not as quick at level 3, but not as slow as stock.

Yes, that's what it's for. You can go into the custom settings menu, and turn the shift firmness down, and the part throttle shift points down also.

Or leave it stock if that's how you like it. Kind of defeats the purpous of the priogrammer though. They really only affect the shifting, horsepower gains are minimal.
