Uh Oh! Mike
Hi Mike,
I just read the thread about the 160 thermostat. Know what? I never took my 160 out when I switched from the hypertech to the superchip. Sounds to me I made a big no-no. So without delay, I'm gonna change the stat. Now, should I just get a factory 180 or no. Seen what you posted, just want to double check
. Funny, I forgot all about that damn thing. I never thought 20 degrees would make that much of a difference. I know heat makes power, but also thought heat kills. Well, go figure. As always, still learning at 38. Man it's never ending is it. I still haven't handed in my mid-term paper from 23 years ago. Think I passed?
As always, Thanks Mike. Take care. Talk to you later.

HI!... F-150RAMAIR : The factory thermastat is 192-194 degree's. So if you are currently running a 160 degree stat then your almost 34 degree's colder! When you switch back, make sure you get a factory stat. They are extremely accurate and some of the aftermarket satst can be let's say rated at 190 but open at 175. So go factory stat. Hope this helps you out.

Mike,
I know this has been mentioned a lot, but I was wondering if you could "adjust" my Superchip for me ... if possible?
My chip seems to be working pretty sweetly, but my speed-limiter still kicks in at about 95 MPH
Just wondering if you could raise the limit, or remove it? Thanks!
BTW, the computer code is: BIK2

Hi Ram Air,
Well, sometimes you just forget, you're only human, and as hectic as most peoples lives are these days chasing the almighty buck it's no wonder!
Just replace it with the factory thermostat, and you'll be set!

Mike, you didn't answer ... but I did get your Email. Funny that you didn't know who I was, when I was replying to the "Thank You" Email that you sent me. I even attached your original letter ... with my order number and everything...
Anyway, I'm not sure what to make of your response ... can you "fix" the limiter, or not? And, when I bought the Superchip, was it *supposed* to already have the limiter removed? If, so, than it appears that the chip didn't remove the limiter, because my limit is *still* 95 MPH with ... or without the Superchip. Also, no ... I haven't changed my tires and wheels, it still has the "factory" Lariat 17" Wheels and 275/60R-17" tires. Still has the factory gears, too. BTW, before you ask, I still use 93 Octane Texaco.
Thanks in advance ... I would appreciate any help you could give.

So, my speedometer shouldn't **still** read 95 MPH ... just like it did, without your chip, right?

No, there's nothing wrong ... except that the "limiter" is still *not* removed. BTW ... hate to say it, but it almost sounds like you're making excuses, because you've mentioned many times, that the "factory set" limit just might not translate perfectly to the speedometer, because the speedometers aren't 100% accurate; that accounts for the 3 MPH "something else is going on", that you mentioned.

Yes, his needle moved more when he used your chip, but mine did not.

So I guess that proves that my Superchip, in fact, is defective.
Thanks...
