Edge CS

I got my new edge in today and while registering it online it ask me to activate my device. I did and they emailed me the activation code. Were does it come into play? I have installed the edge in my truck without any issuses or need of a code. And on another note is it bad to run the 93 octane tune on 87 octane gas? When i went through the other two tunes they did hardly anything at all. I guess i will be jumping on the gryphon bus with everyone else. I was in the market for a programmer to adjust my tire size and so forth so i figured i would spend a few extra bucks and get a good one. Well im kinda dissappointed so far.

DO NOT run the 93 octane tune with your tank filled with 87 gas. In addition to advancing the timing way beyond what 87 octane can handle, it modifies other parameters too, that could cause engine damage.

I don't recall an activation code when I registered my CTS. So, I don't know what this is all about. Possibly, it's just a new way they have of registering you in their database for when updates in the programming happen.

I'm sorry you didn't see any improvement when you used the programmer with its canned tunes. I know I did - a huge difference! But, what year is your truck? If it's an 09+, the programmer is still not programmed to modify the transmission (even though it can). Perhaps some day Edge will rectify this deficiency.

Maybe i jumped the gun alittle bit. I had just taken a quick trip to the store when i made that assumption. I just took alittle bit of a road trip and really like the level 2 towing tune. Couldnt keep my foot out of it. Really liked it alot but im still wanting a couple of custom tunes. Im still playing with it so if there is anything that i can do that yall know of let me know. Thanks for your reply Jack on not running the 93 on 87. I didnt think it would be a good idea. I mainly bought this unit so i could change my tire size when i move up to my 285 BFG's and that it is so upgradable. Well thanks for the info sir.
