Hey yall, I have a 2010 F150 3v, 4.6. Added a superchips tuner and The engine started pinging like crazy..Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

It's running lean! Get that thing off there before you do some serious damage. The pinging is predetenation from bad ignition timing.

x2, not sure what fuel you are running, that could be part of the problem, but probably not the end all solution. A higher octane will help predetenation, but if its as bad (noticeable) as you stated it will probably not be enough to compensate. See if you can call superchips about this, not familiar with their programmers but you may be able to changing timing to a safe range/value.

This is either another canned tuner success story or (if KRC is right) an Eye-Dee-Ten-Tee error...

haha, I did not know other people used that - during college I worked doing IT work and we used that phrase all the time ID-10-T.

Make sure you're running the right octane gas for the tune and if that's not the problem contact whomever you bought it from and put it back to stock immediately......

You are either running excessively lean and/or with excessive timing advance. If it won't go away with high octane fuel, return it to stock.
