It did take me 3 weeks to get mine from Justin, longer than I thought but not to bad. I did have to remind him with an email. It might happen because of the ability to purchase the expedited tunes, which keep going in front of yours.
I had thought that besides better shifting I would get a little better mileage, say 1-2% maximum increase, but so far no increase at all, and $400 buys a lot of gas now. Was also surprised to see on the tuner package when I got it that its not street legal, not a big deal to me, but, never saw any notice on the website of that.

I received my tuner today from VMP. I will update my truck tomorrow and let you know how it runs after. As for the wait, it was about 3 weeks, and I reminded Justin with an e-mail. When I asked about the status of my order, he promptly replied via e-mail that it was on its way. So, no problems here.

Guess that since I already have the unit, he's not too worried about me anymore since I sent him another email yesterday about the status of this program and basically told him that if I do not get a respond by the end of this week then I would want my money back since without the program this device is just a paperweight!! As of yet, no replies. Been 3 weeks now!!

I noticed better shifting also and as for gas mileage, just came back from PA and was doing about 480 miles per tank stopping for gas at a quarter tank so I'm basically doing about 18-19 mpg at 70. Don't know if that's an improvement or not since this is my first Ford truck.

I loaded the 93 performance tune and noticed the converter stayed locked up longer. I am happy with that. Didn't really notice anything else much in the way of performance, but when I looked down at the speedo and saw it was over 100mph, I knew something good was happening. Now I will have to find a few cars who want to pull away from a stoplight with me and see if they keep up. That's all I got now, back out the door to make horsepower and burn fuel.

My best mileage before tuning the truck was 17 MPG with summer gas at 70 mpg no load running on interstate with moderate hills, elevations ranging from 2500 feet to 4500 feet.
engine is a 5.2 with the 4 speed automatic and a 3.70 rear end.
Right now all one can buy is winter gas, my typical mileage to work and back which is partially interstate is 15 or less. With summer gas it goes up to 16-16.5 when the truck ran stock.

You sure you are talking about a Ford? I've never seen one with a 5.2 engine or 3.70 gears........

ROFLMAO yes, its a ford, it's whatever the engine is, 5.2, 5.4 I don't pay attention, Im used to the 351 cleveland or the windsor, I was disappointed to find out this engine is smaller than those.Guess the rear end is 3.73 or whatever it is they offer for the highest ratio, everything else I have owned in life was a 4.10 except my dodge cummins and couldn't tell you what size engine it was rofl, just the 6 cylynder diesel, the rear end was a 3. something, knew it had to much torque for the 4.10 they offered a waste of money and fuel.

So as you can tell, I am not some hot shot lets turn a truck into a hot rod but use it for what its made to do, carry and tow things. I do find it hard to believe that even with advances in technology, even with smog control, trucks basically get the same mileage now as 30 years ago. My chevy 3/4 tons with a 4 speed and a 4.10 rear end and a 350 could pull 15 mpg empty on the road. But then the dodge cummins I had could pull 22 mpg empty, 18 with a gooseneck horse trailer weighing 10,000 lbs. I hear the dodges now only get like 12

Diesels get a lot worse fuel mileage with the more restrictive emissions controls and the ultra low sulfur fuel.

I would still like to know how his truck is set up to get 18-19 mpg.
and if it is one of the 2010, i heard the automatic transmission now instead of 4 speed is what? a 5 or 6 speed, and does get better mileage.
I do have a little more penalty since mine is 4x4 also.
Just filled up again, winter gas, typical drive to work which I have done for 5 years now, still only getting 14.48 mpg with the 87 economy tune. Only thing I can do now is change driving habits to 60 mph or put the new transmission in, which would be a waste of money, it would buy a lot of gas....or guns, fishing poles, make some house payments or such lol

You essentially can't put the 6 speed into your 07 - it uses a separate TCM instead of being controlled by the PCM.

Dumb Question; How do we convert back to stock program? Am taken the beast in on Friday for a tranny fluid exchange and don't want them to blame the programming if there's any wrong with the tranny.

Thanks

This is an 06 5.4 L with the K&N CAI and Dual Magnaflow exhaust with the VMP 93 Octane Economy program.
