Just sounds like a 2010 issue to me... happened to many 2007's according to my readings due to an update. They came our with a new one it sounds like that fixed the issue back then

Very interesting. Looks like I'll need these tunes before using the programmer again. I'm just pissed I'll be paying the dealer to redo the PCM now.

I wouldn't have taken it in at all if it weren't for the P2270 O2 sensor code that they apparently haven't even seen. What a debacle!

Anyways, thanks very much for your input. Hopefully these new tunes will be problem free....

EDIT: It looks like this Monty gentleman is an SCT tuner. I have an edge CS and am waiting on a php tune. I think I'll contact them before I plug this programmer in again.

I just tried to update my edge with the most current fusion software but it failed and said "reinstall programmer in car and return to stock and try again". The thing is I already did this before taking it out of the car so I'm thinking something could be corrupted in the stock tune. I really dunno. What a mess......I'm pretty much done with edge. Hopefully when I transform this thing into a Gryphon these problems will be behind me.

BTW - on tire size - if a non-standard size is detected (curious that they'd look for that), it's another flag, as only IDS should be changing TS, and only for very select sizes. If it's not a standard IDS-supplied size, it can be assumed it was put there by other means (user flash). All flash acitivity by Ford dealers is logged in IDS.

MGD
Thanks MGD. From what I can understand that makes sense. So how would I avoid setting off this flag? Maybe by leaving the tire size selector in the option menu alone completely? I honestly didn't notice much, if any difference when I changed it anyway.

I've contacted edge and they say that they're not familiar with this code being thrown on 2010's at all. Didn't really offer any explanation or help.

I've also emailed Bill at php detailing the situation and I'm hoping he might be able to shed some light on the situation but I think he's out of the office today.

Best of luck man... I really hope you get this straitened out. To be honest, I'm only going to run canned tunes for a while. I had custom ones, but my next custom tune will be on an Sct x3

Just got the truck home from the dealer with a reformatted PCM and a few hundred dollars lighter.

Apparently the rare code they came across was P2096.

Anyhow, I'm now running the stock tune, and it blows

My edge CS won't update itself through the fusion software (not like I'd plug it into the truck now in it's current state even if it would work)

The dealership now has record that the PCM was corrupted and likely flashed with some kind of aftermarket device. I can only hope this doesn't come back to screw me when something totally unrelated eventually happens.

Now that I'm used to driving with a tune, the stock programming just isn't sufficient. Hopefully I can transform this device into a gryphon in the near future and the php tune will sort me out.

I realize this sounds a bit bitchy at this point.....just thought I'd disclose the info in hopes of giving others a different perspective when deciding on a tuner.

Thanks man,

The funny thing is that all this BS occurred after running the same canned tune for 2.5 months?!?!?

Dude I agree, people have had a lot of issues with edge's. No worries, personally, judging from everything I see on here, you've handled it very maturely and properly. No worries at all

John, email may not get you much at PHP - Bill's too busy to respond to emails (even from me). :o Please join the forum there and, try to join an "online chat" with him. This is a new feature he's created that lets him deal with specific issues in a "time efficient" manner. (At least he says it works this way.)

I'm not happy that you're having to have the PCM reformatted. I suspect Bill could have fixed the problem through the internet.

And, I think maybe Edge could have been more help here too.

Jack,

I assume you're probably right. I took the truck in mostly because of the P2270 code and the likelihood of a bad O2 sensor. The unfortunate part is that the truck threw the P2096 code at some point between the time when I returned it back to stock and then drove to the dealership, and that's what caused all the problems.

Bill has been very quick in getting back to me and I'll be telling him in detail about my situation over the phone so he and the edge engineers can look into the situation.

With that being said, I'm pretty hesitant to run another edge tune on my truck. Just waiting on my custom tune from php. The truck feels like such a dog with the stock tune!!
