Has anyone had a problem with your Edge in cold weather?

Describe "problem". Mine has an issue when starting up - screen locks and freezes until it warms up.

In mid December, it reset the unit back to stock even though my truck was still on Level 2. I found that out the hard way.

Extreme temps of both cold and hot seem to disrupt the display of the edge evolution screen.....

I have not seen or read about any issues with the CS or CTS yet as far as their displays go....

My CS on occasion will not start up when I start my truck. Once I turn my truck off and then back on everything works fine. Never tried to just run my truck and see if it starts itself back up. This has happened maybe 3 times since I got the unit (mid Jan.). But only seemed to happen when the temperature was below 20 degrees and my truck had sat all night. Other than that, absolutely zero issues with my CS.

My screen was blank this morning, didn't like the 14*. After the truck warmed up, I unplugged it, plugged it back up and it was fine.

Mine is a monochrome and it changes really slowly in the cold. Instead of showing numbers, the spaces like RPM turn into a blur because the screen cannot physically update fast enough.

My only problem with my Gryphon is that it is bad to kill the battery in cold weather.

When you park the truck for long periods just unplug it....
Also
You may want to invest in a new battery too....
Also
Battery tenders work wonders....
Also
Another way is someone on here bought a solar power battery tender....

It's not long periods. I can run it on Sunday and if it is in the teens weather wise it would bed dead on Monday. Warmer than freezing and no problem. So I've been unplugging pretty much whenever I am finished driving for the day. I know I need a new battery. Trying to figure out the best bang for my buck. Will look into a battery tender. Thanks.

Hi,

I have never had any problems with my Evo operational wise, of course the LCD is slow to update like last week when the temp was showing -31F when I left for work.

I just got the Edge Evo for my 2005 F150 yesterday (birthday present from wife). My truck is completely stock (may do a DMV mod however). Reason I wanted the Evo is to aid when towing our 27' travel trailer. Anyways, the New England weather has been pretty brutal this year (lots of temps single digit and below). I had asked Mark Hayward from Edge Products what to do with the programmer and temps dropped in the teens and his feedback was to plug unit and bring indoors.

As a noobie, when I hook the programmer back up do I need to reprogram the level?

Thanks!
