can Troyer custom tune an Edge Programmer?

I have an Xcal 2 and will be getting new troyer tunes for my 5.4, BUT I want to run a trans temp gauge and would like to monitor more items so I am wondering about running an edge programmer (for the guage pod) but want to stick with Troyer for my tuning. I know PHP tunes them (or the gryphon) and I see the edge evo on Troyer's website so Im wondering if I could sell my xcal2 and run an edge with the gauge pod and still run a custom tune by Troyer.

Hi.

No sir - only PHP can convert (to a a Gryphon) and hence custom tune an EVO.

You cannot run EVO guages while the PCM is flashed via an SCT device.

Option: get a Scanguage II. http://www.scangauge.com/

You can use to monitor many things, while running SCT custom tuning (what i do).

ya Ive never paid attention to the scan gauge until now, going to look into it...just really like the look of the edge gauge pod and was hoping troyer could also use it instead of SCT for their tunes

Actually you can have the edge just hooked up for the gauges.

Hmmm .. you sure?

AFAIK - you need at least the trans-only tune loaded (which saves yer stock tune). If you already have a custom tune installed - there is a HUGE risk involved - if it would even work at all...

Yo - EVO dudes - need some help here! '88 - Where TF are ya

Yeah it's possible. When I detuned my truck for service, it just says "0" where the tune level is displayed and shows the parameters you select. Come on MGD, brush up on your tuners you old windbag!

nice! thats a little more than I was hoping to spend but Ill keep looking around now that I now its an option! If that thing works I wonder if I could just use the edge display or if they somehow have different software but I doubt it...looks identical except the brand name!

Just remember edge evolutions cannot be converted to Gryphons for the 97-03+04h f150s......

Another item is the Gryphon for the 97-03+04h does not display tranny temps.....so the edge evolution might have the same pid missing....

Now if you are looking at the edge cs and cts then the tranny temps are displayed....

well dont you have to add a sensor in the side of the trans and then I think the dashhawk / edge said it can handle atleast one maybe more additional add ons like a trans temp.

the edge cs & cts are the ones that are like $500 right?

Im sure troyer has had others looking to do the same thing so I will talk to them about it. The scan gauge looks like it will do what I want but I really like the look of the edge with the dash pod
