Canned tunes settings
Does anyone know what the stage 2 settings are in the Edge without any customizing.. I made some adjustments to a few settings,WOT Firmnes +12 +12 +9 and WOT shift points to 5000,5000,4000 and WOT fuel to 1.5, but to me the shifting felt harder when I just left it on the standard level 2 program.

Well, I'd guess something like:
+0 +0 +0, WOT fuel 0, and as fer shift points, who knows?
Rilly - no one here could possibly know this- only the fellers who actually built the canned calibrations would.
Call Edge or shoot PHP an email ( Bill would certainly know).
BTW- you really do not want to shift too firmly on a TOW tune ...
MGD
I figured someone might have already asked the question and got an answer from Bill, that why I figured I would give it a shot. I never use the truck to towanyway, I just like a firmer shift.
The problem is, you get "interactions" when you change more than one parameter at a time. I'm reasonably certain that the WOT fuel doesn't introduce an interaction here, based on my programming background and what I know about its effect, but changing the WOT shift points and the WOT shift firmness together CAN introduce interactions (which may not be a good thing).
In the following discussion, I'm using the term "stock" to mean the values used by Edge engineers, not Ford's stock tune. They are the "stock", canned values. *going crazy*
If you really only want to increase firmness, change those values by themselves and don't make HUGE changes (regardless of the values you may have seen in this forum). What I'd do is:

If you really only want to increase firmness, change those values by themselves and don't make HUGE changes (regardless of the values you may have seen in this forum). What I'd do is:
1. Perform a "stock" Level 2 tune. (Program to Level 2 and totally skip the Custom Options choice. Drive it for a while like that until you figure out what you want to change.)
2. If you feel the WOT shifts are too "soft", retune to Level 2, but this time, change the firmness levels to +6, +6 and +4. Drive it like that for a while. You should have noticed a change. If you don't tow, you can probably increase them more if wanted, but as MGD said, a "too quick" shift while pulling a load is not good on the transmission. You really don't want to have shifts that feel like a kid is behind you and kicking the back of your seat. Get that "feel" to your liking before changing anything else.
3. The "stock" shift points are probably higher than 5000, 5000, 4000. I actually think your values are too low. If you want to reduce them, try 5100, 5100, and 4600 to start. You probably won't get a 3-4 upshift at WOT anyway, and I'm not sure you really want one. I think it might be better overall to back off on the throttle to let the 3-4 upshift happen.
4. Finally, I don't really think you need to play with the WOT fuel at all. If you do, change it by itself in subsequent tunes and do it gradually. Changing that value has been known to cause driveability problems.
The key here, is gradual, one at a time changes, with lots of testing. Your truck is NOT like any other. Other people's settings will not be best for you.2. i was wondering about the Edge CTS - until I get the custom tune from PHP - I know Corey said to run Tow in city and performance on highway but can I do that just with the canned tunes until I get it configured with PHP?
reason being - I will be running 6" lift w/ 35" tires thats why (s)he recommended that setting to offset

You may be confusing her with Cody, who is now working with them and is being brought into the gas engine tuning fraternity. (He's really just a pretty damned good diesel tuning guy right now.)
The advice was perfectly good. Tow in the city will give you more power at low rpms and Performance on the highway should be better for fuel (and maybe high speed performance). Honestly, though, I think I'd just leave it at Tow. You can do all this with the canned tunes.
Until I got custom tunes, I used the canned Tow tune all the time.

Your exhaust does not need any adjustments and there is a lot more to tuning a CAI than WOT fuel. I recommend your stock intake until you get custom tunes.
