going from hyperpac to edge?
going from hyperpac to edge?
I'm going from a hypertech to an edge will I need to get the truck reflashed at dealer?. the only reason why I ask is I tried loading a superchip programmer on it after the hypertech was put to stock and it would not load. just wondering if the edge would be different. thanks Brent
you should be good I would contact corey at PHP - he has helped me tremendously on figuring things out corey@phptune.com

As lomo2surf said, the Edge would work if your truck really is at stock. But so should any other programmer made for your model year truck.

you better get the truck back to stock, or maybe the superchips wasn't for your trucks hex code... you sound like you're playing with fire since you keep doing things taht make no sense and you aren't 100% up to speed on what you are doing in the first place...
and going from one canned tuning device to another is a waste of time and money
gryphon
well I bought a used gryphon off an f150 member and had the same prob. I double checked my hyperpac to make sure all settings were back to stock and it won't load my gryphon on now either. it says checksum failure. so for some reason the hypertech unit is marking my pcm. I'm contacting php to see if there's something I can do or if I need to get it reflashed at dealer. any one else ever have this prob?

My flippin crystal ball is broke....

When the Gryphon is plugged into the truck what's the number in the upper right hand corner?
Also....
What does the power programming menu say each level is?
Alls you may have to do is establish a connection with Pegasus VIA your pc and hook the programmer up and update it........

Now what does the power programming display menu say?
A Gryphon without custom tunes and just the canned tunes the power programming menu display should look like this......
0-stock
1-tranny only
2-tow
3-performamce
Note: if any of them say custom after the level number then the unit needs to be updated...thus putting canned tunes back on it.....
What needs to be determined is if the unit was updated back to stock with canned tunes or if it still has custom tunes on it for the previous truck it was used on. If its the latter of the two then it needs to be updated using Pegasus.....
That's why using Pegasus to update the Gryphon may help you....
tunes
none of them say custom after them. The previous owner had custom tunes but he put it back to the canned tunes cause are hex's did'nt match. will a reflash by the dealer allow me to load the gryphon on? I still think for some reason my hypertech left something on there screwing it up.

I want to make sure before I have to tell you a reflash is inevitable......ok?
