Having a problem with my Evo,and hoping somebody can give me some advice. It's a 2001 with a 5.4.
Whenever I change any of the custom settings on level 2 or 3, the truck will run very rich, barely idles,wants to stall,black smoke at idle,smell of raw gas. Also threw a code "TP sensor inconsistent with MAF sensor (?)".
Runs like a scalded dog with the settings when you pour the coals to it.

Just about all of the changes I made were to the rev limit and shift points. Also gear ratio and tire size.
I left the spark and WOT fuel alone.
I am running 93 octane.
Have the Gotts mod,K&N filter, and 3"in 2.5"DO high flow muffler.

Truck runs smooth as silk on all canned tunes with no custom settings.

Cleaned the MAF sensor about a month ago, and replaced fuel filter.

Max RPM 5,400
WOT fuel 1.2

Any ideas???

I also checked for a update when I bought it. It said none were available.

 

No one?? I read about 2,347 posts, came up with this exact problem 3 times. The posts ended with no solution though.

Should I try an update now that it has been installed in the truck?

Just hoping for an easy solution before calling customer service.
