Before and after custom tune!?!

Ok so I been hearing alot of people say a custom tune helps out a bunch? Exactly how much can I expect with a custom tune? Around how much hp/tq? And is the difference like light and day?

I had the Edge canned tunes and was totally happy running level 3 with 93 octane. I got the Gryphon custom tunes, 87 perf and 93 Perf. I now run the 87 Perf exclusivly. It has the same power as the canned 93 tune and the shifting is much better. The downshifting is the biggest improvement.

These are the gains for the canned Gryphon tune.

Custom tunes gains should be slightly better.

What do you think about the 93 performance?

It is very impressive. I just really don't feel the need for it since the 87 Perf is so good and i like saving the 25 cents to 30 cents a gallon. I still have it, just been a long time since I ran it.

I really need to bite the bullet and get:
87 performance
87 tow/haul
93 performance

I have been running canned 93 performance for a long time. Even when I drop to tow/haul I still run 93, because its typically to go to boat landing and back which is not a far drive. When done towing I go right back to level 3. At this rate the savings in gas would pay for the tunes before too long.

I figured the savings paid for my tunes in 6 months. I drive a lot. I had about 31,000 on level 3 with 93 octane. Now, keep in mind, I discovered that I got 11% better mileage out of canned level 3 compared to level 2 on 87. So there was no extra cost involved. The savings came when I went to the 87 Perf. I have over 50,000 on the custom 87 Perf tune.

I figured I need to match my tow tune the lowest common denominator I plan on running, that way no matter what fuel I have in, if I have to tow/haul something I am good to go.

I seldom tow and when I do, it is not anything too heavy, so I kept the Level 2 canned tow tune. Since I am almost always on the 87 Perf tune, then if I need to go to the tow tune, I'm good.

I thought level 2 canned (tow/haul) needs 89?

Not unless it's a custom tune specifically written for 89.

Otherwise the canned tow tune is 87.
