Ugh! You should not have needed the tape at all for the pod on a 2008 truck. Mine just kind of "clamps on" to the dash (when you press down on it it "clicks" into place). I know the pod ships with tape (it comes from Edge), but it is not needed.

Maybe you could put a cell phone holder over the mark or something when the pod is off.

It DOES sound like there is a transmission problem, and that can certainly effect mileage. With the transmission in 3rd gear and the Torque Converter locked, the Input Shaft Speed (ISS) should equal the Output Shaft Speed (OSS). If it doesn't you've probably got some "slippage".

And, you can set your Gryphon up to display kpm too, as a PID, so you won't have to muck with mph values.

In addition to the comments above, the -18C temperature isn't helping either. With my '09 4x4 SCREW (5.4, 3.55, 31.9" tires), I get 17.5 in the summer and 16.5 in the winter (most highway) when I am behaving. If I am not careful with the pedal, coasting and the like, I get .5 lower. If I keep my foot into it too much, I can get 1 - 1.5 lower yet.

On a warm day driving a long flat stretch as you described, I would get just over 18 MPH and just under 17 in the winter.

Uhg, oh well live and learn I guess. I hate driving my truck without the tuner now. So.............wimpy. Should put in a disclaimer with the package about those things though.

Good news, the technician didn't show up for work today. Now my truck won't get looked at until tomorrow..........
