superchips problem and sct questions!

i installed a shift kit into my truck and i needed to lower my shift pressure. well my superchips screen doesnt work. the programmer works, makes sounds, but i cant see what its saying. my programmer is from 2002 so the warrenty is out of the question.

would a SCT be able to overight the superchips tune? or would i have to get it flashed at the dealer to eliminate the superchips tune to install the sct tune?

Can't see the screen output?
To program your truck!
That's nutz! don't even try it!

Take it to a dealer and get it reflashed to stock......

Then contact Justin at VMP tuning and tell what's going on......an SCT xcal3 with custom tunes should be an improvement.......

you can see it has power, but its just black squares, i waited 5 mins for it to come clear up and it never did..

how much does a dealer charge for a reflash?

Depends on the dealer.....
60-130

Not unless you want to contact Superchips to see what they'd charge? It might be more?

thanks! i sent him a pm.

i need to get a sct anyway, but i was planning on selling this one to cover some cost, but i guess not anymore!

but what im conserned about is my line pressure in the transmission. i have the pressure 3/4 of the way up on the tuner and a shift kit installed now. would this harm the trans?

im going to start driving slower i guess, till i get a new tuner.

so much for having fun with the shift kit!

Before and when you get the truck back to stock just take it easy and the shift kit shouldn't hurt anything.

Too bad about the programmer...

But....
The SCT xcal3 you'll like and even better the custom tunes.....

well, i called superchips, they are gunna fix the screen. only cost $42 to repair it. so i will take it easy, no more 5K shifts! gunna keep it under 2K. should take about 2 weeks to get it though!

the sct was a no go. it would just keep the superchips tunes as the "stock" tune. so i didnt really have a choice to get back the stock tune. the dealer was gunna charge me 80+ to reprogram it, and there was a chance it would fry the computer.

42 isn't that bad......
Just make sure that they know your stock file is still on the programmer....

Do you keep the tool in the truck? The screen doesn't like the cold weather. I keep mine in the house during t he cold months.

I thought it was shift kit or tuner?

You use both?

yeah im using both, but the thing is you need to lower the line pressure with the tuner when you install the shift kit. thats what i was going to do but i found out my programmer is broke.

when you run both, it shifts really hard because the tuner increases line pressure with the pump, and the shift kit increases line pressure using a plate.
