Edge Chameleon version ?

Edge products sent me another Programmer to replace the Evolution I was having issues with. The letter that accompanied the unit says that is a Chameleon version. ???? This is the first time I've heard of it. It looks identical to the Evolution I returned with the exception of the chord that has the extra plug on it that would be used on a deisel tuner. Could anyone clue me in on what the Chameleon version is? It works fine , just curious.

I've never heard of this. Since a "chameleon" is something that can look like something else, I'd have to guess this unit can satisfy different applications, possibly pre and post 04's and/or diesel/gas - and again, this is just a WAG on my part.

But regardless, I'm happy it's working for you.

Answer from Edge Products

The "Chameleon Version" Evolution I recieved in exchange for my unupdateable lightning software version Evolution. Is esentially no different than what I had except that it is now updateable using the fusion software instead. The term Chameleon is used only as a reference to Edge personel and is nothing more than that. No problems so far.

It will just be the Edge - you won't be able to see it anymore. But neither will the thieves!

The unit appears the same, with the exception of the chord having an extra plug on it. That plug, I was told is for the exhaust temp probe when it is use with a Diesel programmer. There was also some minor difference in the wording used durring the initial set up. Other than that . Exactly the same. " chameleon" is just a reference name for Edge employees, so they know that Ive got an 04-08 that is now able to use the Fusion software.
