My PHP CTS reverted to an Edge! (and first impressions)
I just received my PHP CTS for my '09. The first thing I did was load Fusion and update my tuner per the instructions. It appears to have reverted to an Edge device, with their tunes (Lvl1-economy;Lvl2-Performance;Lvl3-Extreme) and Edge's Contact Information. 88racing's post on 9/18 showed the PHP Contact Information screen and PHP tunes (two were custom, but none looked like the Edge tunes that I have.)
First Impression: On level 2, I must say that the truck is noticeably more powerful. I haven't run a stock 0-60 yet, but it was 8.5 seconds on lvl2 (with some pinging with 87 octane). This is a heavy King Ranch with a 3.55 limited slip rear on 20" stock Perelli tires. It burned both tires for about a second. Before programming, it wouldn't burn the tires at all, and just a little (1/4 second or so) on E85. The shifting seems similar to stock.
Question: I lost the PHP tunes when I ran Fusion; how do I get the PHP tunes back???

Well assuming you ordered the tuner direct from PHP, it comes as a stock device with canned tunes. If you ordered custom tunes they will email you when they are done.
Now if you sent one in and had it converted to a gryphon and they did put the custom tunes on before they sent it back to you, then you will have to get a hold of them and have them upload the tunes to the Fusion server again.

It was supposed to come with: Trans-only; 87-tow; 93-performance. I how have the Edge Economy, performance and extreme. I did order it from PHP, perhaps they shipped it before updating edge's server. I ordered a custom tune as well, which I expect later. Perhaps when it is done, I will get the canned PHP tunes back - I prefer not to wait to get the canned tunes back though.
Well unless it's different for the newer trucks, my CTS that I ordered came with canned tunes from PHP, meaning not custom, meaning you can update via Fusion whenever you want because there are no custom tunes to overwrite. Either I am ill-informed or you are confused. Guess we'll wait for Jack to reply to this one.
Okay
Let's get some shtuff straightened out.
The PHP CS and CTS
DO NOT come with PHP canned tunes....only the edge canned tunes.
The monochrome Gryphon does however come with the PHP canned tunes and links with Pegasus.
The only way custom tunes will come on a programmer from PHP is by special request and PHP also has to have the hex code from the customer's vehicle prior to ordering for this to happen also.
Did any one rush to plug it in to the vehicle when they got it, to see what the boot up screen was?
Or
Did you rush to plug it in to the computer for the updates before using it?
Even though I have updates pending I will not add to Bill's burden of having to reload my tunes until edge straightens out their cluster heffer.
Heck the only place my CTS is registered with is PHP.
It hasn't been linked to fusion since it left PHP's office.

88racing,
Thanks for the quick answer. Looking at your pictures is what I find puzzling. I didn't plug it into my truck before updating (the instructions said to update first). Your splash screen and contact information says PHP, where mine says Edge. My unit was supposed to come with three canned PHP tunes according to PHP's order form (Trans only, 87 Tow and 93 Performance), so I assume that it originally came with those. It now indicates that it has the canned Edge tunes ('economy,' 'performance' and 'extreme'). Perhaps 'economy' is what PHP calls "Trans only" and 'Performance' is what they call "87 Tow" and 'extreme' is "93 performance." This would seem quite strange to me though.
I did order the "87 Performance" custom tune.

I think the order form encompasses or includes a lot of products all in one and it can be confusing at times.
Corey has done a great job cleaning up and organizing the forms over the last 6 months.
The PHP CS and CTS only has the edge canned tunes.
Bill made an agreement with edge not to tweek their tunes on the new programmer platform.
Now the monochrome PHP Gryphon does come with the PHP canned tunes.
Your 87 performance tune will be ready when you get an email from PHP.
Like stated before its highly unlikely to get a programmer from PHP with the custom tunes already installed on it.

88Racing is saying the same thing I would be saying. I think your unit shipped with Edge's tunes on it, just like everyone else's. I suspect though, that for the 2009 model year and up, Edge has created new "canned" tunes, with different names. Remember how long it took to get this thing to market. You can bet they weren't just sitting on their hands. So, I don't think anything's amiss.
And, since you DID update your CTS, you can be happy that the custom tunes, when you get them, will not be overwritten by the firmware update.
You could call Edge Tech Support and confirm this, or try to get hold of PHP. However, in the meantime, I'd just install it on my truck and try the "Performance" tune, since it is probably close to what you are getting in a custom tune.

I am running the performance tune. It pings under heavy load (including WOT) in the mid-range with 87 octane. I am at 1/4 tank and trying to get to 1/8 so when I fill with 93 octane I can try the extreme setting (which I assume is similar to PHP's 93-performance tune).
Correction: The middle "lev-2" tune is called "Towing" not "Performance." I was going to try to back off the timing a little in the mid-range, but didn't see any options to adjust this (nor shift points, nor shift firmness). Hopefully I am just missing something. Can the user tweak these like other programmers?

While it was in the Edge box, its packaging is quite innovative. The USB connector is accessible without opening the box, so PHP could have programmed it without opening it - cool packaging design if you ask me.

^^^ x100.. and ASAP.
In fact, I'd be retuning the truck to stock before you damage it. Looks like yer specific calibration support is off in the canned file, and/or there are other factors ( see linky below).
Audible pinging also means the PCM is going to be pulling timing anyway...
(BTW - the proper way to switch octanes is to run until the low fuel lite appears, not 1/4 or 1/8 tank - the guage is nonlinear. Otherwise you risk dilution.

It seems to me that since your screen-shot shows the PHP named levels "87 Custom Towing," "87 Custom Performance," and "93 performance," and is stock from PHP, that mine must also have came with PHP tunes that were overwritten when plugging into Fusion. Somehow you have PHP named tunes and I have Edge named tunes with the same unit purchased from the same place. The only difference that I can see is that I have connected with Fusion and you haven't.
As far as the pinging, it only happens at WOT or near WOT in the 2500 - 4000 RPM range. I am going to increase octane in the next day or two once my tank gets down to a few gallons. At that point, I plan to try the "extreme" tune instead of the "towing" tune with 93 octane. When they are ready, I plan to run the PHP "custom 87 performance" tune or the canned 93 performance tune when they are ready. I think the 93 performance canned PHP tune was one that came on my unit originally - I paid for the 87 performance custom tune.
