Question on Scan Gauge 2?

Hope of ya'll are having a good evening, Ive been looking at the scan gauge 2and have a few questions.

First off i have a edge evo and since i have a evo would there be any point in getting a scan guage? Pro's and Cons about having both?

Secondly since the scan gauge uses the OBD2 port can i just unplug my Evo(and keep it on level 2) and just run the Scan Gauge off the OBD port?

Third do any of you guys have one in the 97-03 f150? I would like to see where ya installed it.

Last what is your favorite part of the scan gauge?

THanks Guys looking forward to your replies!

Can't help with the comparison to the Edge Evo, however I did have a Scangauge installed in my 2001 F150. I used a Blendmount http://www.blendmount.com/scangauge.html over the rear view mirror. It worked great.

I bought mine before they released the x-gauge feature where you can program additional perimeters to monitor. They offered a free upgrade so I sent it in and got it upgraded. I have only hooked it up once to my 2010.
My favorite feature was the mpg calculator. You enter the amount you filled up each time and it would correct the readings. It ended up being pretty accurate.

On a 2007 with 5.4 FX4 I ve4lcroed it top center of steering column in front of steering wheel. Hides nothing. I use a Flashpaq so I don't have the tuner hooked up except when changing something. I added a bunch of Ford coded X-gages using both versions for things like trans temp, output shaft speed, input speed, TC slippage, temps of several things, etc. I use it in my '01 Mercury Grand Marquis and a '95 Thunderbird too.

In my '07 truck it tells cyl head temp, trans ratio of whatever gear your in, slippage, input speed, output speed, trans temp, engine temp, air intake temp, eng run time that cycle, voltage, fuel gal per hour, speed, air fuel ratio, and stuff I likely forget.

I never reset the fuel as I refill at 1/23 ttank and that feature just fine tunes it to thatvehicle so it knows how far you can go on that tank. On stop to stop driving over several hundreds of miles on road trips, the average displayed on the SGII for that leg corresponds prety close to computed MPG using miles run versus fill up quantity.

It will sometimes show 9990 mpg on coasting as fuiel is shut off.

Mostly, I use the instant and average fuel readings and speed and may cycle through using trans temp and engine temp when towing or if in other places where it's of concern.

It's back lighting is adjustable in color and intensity.

Been thinking about getting one myself. I like the idea of real time parameter displaying capability.
i just need some time off to tinker with my truck a while.....
