Suggestions Appreciated

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and have spent the last hour or so reading threads about programmers but I still haven't come to any real conclusions with regard to what would be the best programmer for me.

I have a 2010 5.4 on order and use mostly 87 octane gas.

What I'm looking for in a programmer:

1. The ability to adjust the programmer for 35 inch tires

2. Roughly 3 canned tunes for economy, perfomance, towing

3. The ability to load a custom tune to account for my elevation and possible future mods like intake and exhaust etc

Last question.....is there much money to be saved by going with a programmer without an lcd gauge display?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. There seems to be an overwhelming number of options out there.

Thanks in advance

SCT+Edge/Gryphon CS+CTS.

Forget about the canned tunes if you're you just want to run 87 octane gas. You'll need custom tunes instead.
Economy tunes are a crap shoot, some people have good luck with them and others don't. Custom performance tunes seem to do better than canned economy ones and even custom economy ones.

Just do the Gotts mod for your year of truck and save some cash by not getting an intake. Tunes are not effected by exhaust as long as its cat back. Extensive exhaust mods will need tuning.

Yes.>>$50-$300 depending which ones you're looking at.

That's a fact. Your better off to spend your money on a gear change to offset the bigger tires. Tuner or not, you will see a mpg drop with the bigger tires.

True indeed. I wouldn't really use the economy tune anyhow. It would just be nice to have a few choices.

I've ordered the truck with 3.73 gears to offset the 35's to some extent.

Who do you guys reccommend for a custom tune?

Thanks for the tips fellas!
