Edge Evolution! I have a few quick questions I was hoping some of you could answer, and I'll post a review when I get it! I'll be comparing the difference to the flash on my old 06' GTI, which was downright night and day. Since the F150 isn't a turbo I won't expect quite the same, but according to the power bands they post on the site, it looks to be quite a difference. On to the questions...
1) Does the guage pod + actual programmer, while installed, become a large target for theives? I've only seen one truck with a tell-tale edge on the road (it was a chevy, at that), and I could easily tell it was aftermarket. I live in LA, a nicer neighborhood at that, but I'm still concerned with thieves. Have you heard or experienced anyone breaking in to take the programmer, or would you recommend leaving it in the pod permanently?
2) I have done the Gotts mod on my truck, is there any reason running a canned tune together with it will cause any disruptions? I've read on these programmers as nauseum but I can't seem to get definite answers.
Thanks for your input, and it should be coming in the mail tomorrow!
edit- truck is an 07 5.4 3v

I've had mine installed for almost a year now and haven't had any issues. Several of my buddies have it installed in the pod as well and again no issues. There is a slick post somewhere on here we a guy installed it in the ash tray if you're really concerned. My search feature doesn't seem to be working. As far as the Gotts mod, I don't have that so can't help you there
1) If you're worried about it being a target for thieves it can be unplugged without changing the tunes and removed from the dash.
2) The Gotts mod shouldn't effect anything.

Wow. What an incredible purchase. I didn't get my hopes up too high because I didn't want to be disappointed, but wow. I think the biggest difference comes in how the tranny shifts, and the disappearance of throttle lag. My old GTI was a 6 speed stick, so the only time I really knew there was a difference was when my trial flash ended and it reverted to stock. The transmission shifting was all me, but this time I have an auto. Here, the extra power and quicker(albeit a bit jerkier) shifts actually make me know there's a V8 under the hood. It's crazy to think I am this blown away by merely using the 87 tow tune. The next time I fill up will be with 91 to try out the performance tune.
I am damn glad I bought an Edge.
Next on the list is exhaust...

Good to hear! I had the same reaction when I first installed my Edge (now a Gryphon).
Putting a windshield "shade" up makes it harder for someone to see in and notice the Edge on your dash if you're still worried about that. And, there's always Jimi-Jammer lock protection.
