Talking 2009-2010 Gryphon!

As of 30 minutes ago, this was posted on Edge's Facebook page:

The Evolution CS and CTS for the 2010 GM Gas Trucks/SUVs, 2009-2010 Ford Gas F-150/Expeditions/Lincoln Navigator, and 2001-2010 GM 4500 and 5500 6.6L Diesel Duramax trucks is now available. Check out www.edgeproducts.com for more details.

Just FYI, I don't believe we're going to be allowed to update the earlier Gryphons and Evos to 09s and 10s.

So when will the Gryphon be available to order? Are you able to custom tune the 09-10's right now because I am wanting to order a CTS as soon as you have them available since I have been waiting for several months until it was going to be released...What will the Gryphon CTS run as far as price?

Good news.

But - this part doth sucketh;

Just FYI, I don't believe we're going to be allowed to update the earlier Gryphons and Evos to 09s and 10s.

Edge's competition does not have this restriction on user-updateable flash programmers, AFAIK...

I had actually placed an order with Edge yesterday before I found out about the 09-10 release. I should have some programmers in on Monday -- make that Tuesday because of Labor Day. You can place your order at any time.

Prices and Info Can Be Found by Clicking HERE

I think we're going to offer free shipping on new programmer orders received next week (not upgrades); I'll make that retroactive to any Gryphon, CS, or CTS orders received this week. If I received your order yesterday or today, it'll show up on your invoice. I have some orders on my desk that I printed last night, and it looks like there's only one person that I'll need to refund shipping.

FYI I was on the phone with Edge this afternoon and they told me that the previous CS and CTS can be updated via a software download. They also told me that they havent sent any of them out with the new software so even the ones that you order from them for the first couple of months will require an update...

Hey Corey,

So does a custom tune cost an additional $30 and are you able to custom tune the CTS for the 09-10's yet?

Also wondered what the mounting options are for the 09-10's for the CTS? Is there a pod out for them or do I have to use the window mount for right now? Do you re-case the CTS?

I will probably be ordering this week or next as soon as I found out if I can get a custom tune done from you guy's.

How long would the custom tune take and can I get the CTS and run it on the stock tunes until you get the custom tune done and then I can just download it into the CTS? I didn't know if you can do that or if they are different than the evolutions as far as updating?

Sorry for all of the questions but it is not a cheap investment so I want to make sure everything is good to go before I pull the trigger.

Are the ones you ordered going to have to be updated before you send them out?

We don't have to recase the CS and CTS. When custom tunes are loaded, the firmware is updated with a new splash screen and states that it's no longer CARB certified. As for the pods, we spoke to someone at Edge yesterday who told us that the pods have been designed; they are just waiting for them to come in from the manufacturer. No, I don't know how long that will be. The CS and CTS both come with arms like a GPS.

If you have a CAI, you'll want to stay away from Level 3, though. There are some trucks who will even set codes with Level 2, but that's not the norm. Right now, I'd say custom tunes are about 4-6 weeks out. Bill did some training with Cody, so there are two -- maybe 1½ -- people who can do the gas tuning now. The CS and CTS come with a disk which includes Fusion (similar to our Pegasus), and the updating is pretty easy.

Sorry for all of the questions but it is not a cheap investment so I want to make sure everything is good to go before I pull the trigger. I don't blame you! I tell people all the time that if I was going to spend the money, you can bet I'd be asking a lot of questions!

Are the ones you ordered going to have to be updated before you send them out? I don't know if it's something we'll be doing in house or something the customer will do.

Thanks Corey!

Also wondered if you got my e-mail about if the transmission is able to be tuned or changed on the 09-10's with the CTS? I know there has been controversy about this since the transmission is separate from the rest of the truck as far as tuning and updating???

Corey,

I would also like to know about the transmission/TC issue. Also, I placed my order yesterday afternoon, with some additional comments/questions included on my order form. Any idea when I may get a phone call answering those? How long should I expect for the CS to be shipped out? How long after that should I expect the custom tunes to be ready? Thanks again. Can't wait to receive it.

By the way, my first name is Brandon if that helps you find my order.
