Thanks, Mike!

Been some years since I've trolled these forums, about two or so I think. When I first purchased my 05 STX, got the XCal II, AF1 CAI, and was extremely happy & relieved they lived up to expectations.

After a tranny flush @ 40K, 4 thousand miles later it took a ****. Exteneded warranty covered it, repaired it and then another 1500 miles it was bad again. Second try was good for only another 4 thousand more before that one took a crap.

I was worried about reloading the perfomance tunes on my truck again because dealer said 3rd party ext. warranty peeps might try to blame it on tuner. He also told me he KNEW that the tuner wasn't to blame. He thought the problem was with the flushing process of the tranny. Told me to pay more for the drop pan method.

Anyways, so for about 2 years now, no XCall II tune loaded....driving was mundane, boring etc. So approaching 100K, I decided to reload the tune and see what I was missing.

WOW! About a week now, I don't know what the hell I was thinking or worried about for sooo long! Truck actually stays in first until I want it to in lieu of shifting from 1st to 2nd @ 10-15 then 3rd @ 15-20! I can hammer it from stop and can keep it in first until I let off or hit 5300 rpm (my setting)!!!

I can even (once again) get a second gear chirp (if wet out, hey it's a 4.6!) like I used to when I first installed it years ago. The adjustable shift points are a godsend...

Now I know this isn't too surprising to others that have programmers, but going for soooo long with stock tune to a performance tune, like a brand new truck and I actually look forward to driving for work (a ton) and just going to the store.

I really want to thank Mr. Troyer yet again for the great product that I purchased so many years ago!

For all of the newer members, I've had the screen name "beowulf" years before that godforsaken movie came out!

it's an amazing difference isn't it?

I've got a question about the tranny problems though. If the tranny flush explains the first failure, how can it be related to the next two?
