Xcal 3 and K&N air filter

Right now I have the stock intake with a VMP tuned XCal3. If I add a K&N intake, do I need to get a different custom tune for my XCal3 from Justin or can I keep the tune I have now? Thanks.

It will help those trying to give advice, if they knew the year and engine.

With that engine, I don't think you will be in any danger of running lean with an aftermarket intake, but to take advantage of any gains that the intake might provide, you will need new tunes.

If it were me, I would do the Gotts mod and forget the K&N.

***EDIT***
Yer title says "Air Filter' - if it is JUST a replacement panel filter, NO adjustments are necessary.
IF it's a full WAI, then read on, lol:

Did you ask Justin?

Yer truck uses a slot-style MAF - as such yer tune will likely require correction to ensure you are safe.

From VMP's website:

"We can tune for different cold air intakes on 05+ Mustangs and 04+ F150s. Any aftermarket intake that flows well and puts the slot-style MAF sensor into a larger less restrictive housing is going to REQUIRE a tune for the vehicle to run properly. Intakes that do not require a tune are often just as restrictive as stock and do not result in large power gains." - Justin Starkey, VMP Tuning

It's not really model-year specific - it's MAF relocation/venturi change-specific.

Call Justin. He will properly advise you.
