I have a 2010 f150 with the 5.4L, an also a hypertech max energy programmer. Just like most other programmer/tuners you can select what rpm to shift at from every gear to gear, but what I was wondering was where everyone was putting their shift points to inorder to hit the right rpms to make the max hp because I do not want to make it shift to early and or shift to late. Any advice?

 

Set the WOT shift points as high as you can but 400-500 RPM below the rev limiter (keep some room for the TC).

 

Check the new "sticky" on using the "Custom Options menu". The advice in there on shift points applies regardless of the kind of programmer you use.

I was considering getting the hypertech programmer for my 2010 FX4, and was wondering if you liked that set up? I am running 35in tires and looking for some extra milage any way i can get it

 

Probably the best way to get better mileage is to put OEM tires back on. Failing that, you could always have the axle ratio changed (a higher gear ratio for both the front and rear axles). You're not going to get your mileage back with a programmer.
