Edge Evo torque convertor setting

I installed my edge evo a couple of weeks ago and custom set it to what blue jay and several others mentioned. My truck is an 05 screw with the 5.4l. I also have an airaid intake and flowmasters. My truck runs awesome, a night and day difference from factory. I haven't had any of the lean problems I've read about on the 04's and 05's. The only question I have is should I adjust the torque convertor settings since I've adjusted my shift points. The manuel said doing so would give me better gas milage. If it helps I'm my truck is set at stage 3. Thanks for any help.

How do you know weather or not that you're running lean?
If you think its because you're not getting dtc codes you could be wrong.
Nature of the beast with a slot style MAF.

Level 2 would be the preferred setting while the cai is installed.

Better yet would be custom tunes. Then you wouldn't have even a question about running lean and wouldn't have to play around with all the settings.
Give PHP a hollar about getting it upgraded and with some custom tunes.

I dont have the actual airaid cai system just the intake tube and an K&N panel filter in place of the stock filter. Would that set up still cause a lean problem? Also, how can you tell if you're running lean because my truck has been running great. And I'll eventually get a custom tune but in the mean time I'm hoping what I have will be fine.

Even the MIT can be a concern on certain trucks:https://www.f150online.com/forums/2230502-post10.html

Only way to know is direct A/F measurement.

Playing ostrich and 'hoping' is not prudent. Not with a canned programmer never designed to run on anything but the stock intake, and the '04-'05 MY F150 3V's.

In my assessment of the MIT there maybe a slight infinitessimal risk of a lean issue but none like running a complete cai kit on a 04-05 5.4 3v.
It's more or less a manufactured Gotts mod with the silencers removed.

Back to the OP's original question - decreasing the Torque Converter lockup settings (negative offset numbers) should improve gas mileage slightly. But, you may have to experiment. If you increase the engine load too much, it will decrease your mileage!
