Sounds also like the fist versions of the MIT were the most problem causing ones.

 

So since mine is a late 06 built truck am I in the clear??

Also if I use only the trans only setting till I can change stuff or get custom tunes... That shouldn't hurt anything right?

 

Get it, you will be fine. Just keep in mind that the Edge tunes are written for the stock intake, so if your intake flows more air, the tune will not take any more advantage of the extra air over your stock tune.

Also, I would not worry about using level 2 or level 3 with your 06. If it pings, then I would be concerned, but that is highly unlikely. Possible, but unlikely. I would, just as soon as possible convert to the Gryphon, though. The custom tunes are much better and can be written to take advantage of the intake.
