Troyer Tune
Anything more than that and your into re-clutching, Jugs, and a bottle for a 2003 RX-1 to come anywhere near 145MPH
Hate to argue here but I've got the RX-1 (not the same one pictured above) and I have hit 134 on it, constant. I had friends who run Thundercat 1000's who were running along side of me with their speedo's needle pinned. So yes... mine sure can hit 134. Its a digital readout on mine, so you really can't mistaken it. I mean sure, there are times were they are not perfectly accurate, but its not far off as long as your not spinning the track from a dead standstill.
Yeah the sled is sick as hell. I've beaten guys riding TCat 1000's multiple times, but that was back in the early 2000's. Newer sleds nowadays could probably chew it up and spit it out with all of the advancements. This sled was 650ish pounds dry weight (666 IIRC) The Tcats or 2-strokes will always beat it off of the line, but given some extra track I can take them no problem.
*On second thought... Maybe I was hitting 124, but was told it can hit 134* I know it was not lower than 124 because I remember getting tunnel vision and almost forgetting to slowly tap on the breaks when I realized that 1/2 a mile up the road (very short period of time at 124) there was a road. I was on a frontage road that was hard pack and ice.
After owning this sled though I will say this..... I'll never own another Yamaha snowmobile again, Period. Hardest thing to start after it sits for less than a month, i've had more issues with this than any sled and this particular model sucks for pretty much anything short of pinning it to the bar on a straight away. I'm a Polaris man at heart

Go ahead and do a run with an accurate radar gun this season! 134 on any sled's gauge will translate to somewhere between 113-115.
Give it a shot, you will be surprised at the results....I don't dispute the T-cat victory however. I've given a few 1000's all they can handle with other sleds with much less engine displacement.
I thought I was clipping at 121 on a buddy's purple screamer one day on the lake, but actually only hit 99!
Sad but true I'm afraid, but your sled is STILL damn quick.

Your probably right about it clocking a bit lower on a radar then :P. Although my RX-1 was at one point factory raced by the dealerships son. It still has the racing number Y31 on it, and he said something about gearing it for racing. I don't recall whether or not the stock ones were put back on it. It is one fast son of a bitch but I'd take a Polaris over it any day for reliability. I've had nothing but issues with it since I've gotten it. Its way to heavy for powder and climbing. God forbid you ever roll that sucker down a hill... its a PITA to work on too since everything is so cramped up and specialized. Don't get me wrong, once you get it started it runs great, just more hassle than its really worth and not enough travel on the rear or front shocks.
Fordaholic... you ever make your way up the Alaskan Highway to Arctic Man? I finally got the chance to go this last winter and it was pretty awesome. Would have been better if I had been with a group of guys who actually wanted to ride more. They ended up being the types that want to stop every 30 minutes for a few hours and sit next to a grill or something. I don't get that! You drive all the way out to the mountains to ride and all you get in is a few total hours? To hell with that! Get out there and ride already.

Man you gotta hit the snow, 120 in a car is fun, 120 on a sled is the best speed ive ever had! I have a ski-doo rev 440 chasis with an 800 mod motor. 9.90 1/4 mile! Lemme know if you ever make it to MI, we can show ya the snow fun! Nice cars by the way..
Nice bike, i have an07 GSXR 1000. Seemed to be the best mixture of speed and ability to turn!!! Whatcha think about the M109R? My buddy has one lowered, and all done up. Ruins every chopper and Harley at the track!!!
I have a few friends with M109r's and they love them. I may get one someday as a second bike. My busa isnt to bad in the twistys its not stretched much, but when I want to hit the curves I ride my wifes gsxr
The busa rules the highways and long sweepers! 310 RWHP!

I guess Mike is busy with Dyno-Tuning sleds. That's why the wait for trucks is so long, and he doesn't have time to post here anymore.
