SCT xcal 3 Question

I have ben researching programmers and had a question I couldnt find the answer to a question on the xcal 3. If I ordered this without any custom tuning, does it come with tunes or do you have to set individual settings to make a tune? If so, what are the tunes that come from the factory? I guess i am just a little confused. Thanks for any help.

I'm looking at the same thing for my 05 5.4. Anyone have any experience with this programmer? Pros vs. Cons?

pros = great tuning device, easy to use, fast, simple reliable, heavy support worldwide

cons = none (unless you want the "guages" then opt for the livewire)

There are several tuning options for your model year truck. The canned tunes should be a great improvement over stock.

personally i would NEVER install a "canned" tune. I have seen what they actually can do on a dyno while datalogging.

A "custom" tune from a reputable tuner will most definately maximize and come very close to being spot on. I would still recommend datalogging on the street to make sure all is good.
